Peter Boot works as a senior researcher at the Huygens Institute for History and Culture.  After studying Mathematics (Leiden) he worked as a programmer and database specialist in the commercial sector. Later he studied Dutch Language and Culture in Utrecht and wrote a PhD thesis on the potential of scholarly annotation in digital editions. He oversaw the web publication of the letters of Vincent van Gogh. His research interests are the scholarly digital edition and its possibilities, and, more relevant for this project, computational literary studies and the practice of online book discussion.
